Two different types of ejector prototypes using a variety of lamellae material, constructed by Transvac and Arctec Aqua As were tested by PERA. A test rig was built to evaluate the ejectors. The water flow was set at 200 litres/minute, the planned flow rate at the pilot-scale test at Swansea. The amounts of air entrained in the water system and the pressure loss over the ejector were measured, while the micro bubbles were observed and photographed.

Month 1-3
27.apr 2007 - 12:52
Work is currently under way to create new scientific knowledge of the aquatic environment in aquaculture tanks. This knowledge will in turn be used as prerequisite for the technological development.
Further results will follow as the project progresses.

During the first months of the project, the partners focused on gaining increased scientific understanding of the aquatic environment in aquaculture tanks. This entailed undertaking literature studies to identify how various dissolved gasses influence different species of fish as well as to identify specific factors which affect dissolved gases in water and formation of micro-bubbles.
The scientific understanding gained from the work mentioned above, helped lay the foundation for the further work ahead; to develop and build prototypes of a degasser unit. Currently, work is in progress to develop prototypes of the special ejector which is to inject air to the reaction chamber, and of the reaction chamber itself.
